I can't seem to download and install Instagram on my iPhone 6, it says unable to download and there is an option to click done or retry. Either one of them can't seem to fix the issue. I have restarted my phone and reset it as well, but no change.

I Have tried restarting and resetting my device, even tried restoring an old backup but it didn't work. I also tried downloading the app (Instagram) on iTunes on the Mac but it says that the file is corrupted. I would be pleased if any assistance is given.

iPhone 6, iOS 9.0.2

You have stated the two factors explaining your problem in your title and in the body text

  1. unable to download (is probably a 'generalized' term for unable to 'install')
  2. iTunes Mac says file is corrupted

CONCLUSION: the File is corrupted. No fault of yours. Nothing Apple or we users can do.

I am not surprised about your being directed to forums and FAQs - it is common practice reduce support costs in all companies - even here in out forums, ASC, that is its primary purpose = reducing Apple's costs.

I have found that Goggle is helpful sometimes > https://www.google.com/search?...Instagram+app+iOS+9.0.2…

IF indeed you are using the Instgram, Inc. app to which I linked above, and have followed the support link therein, and finally arrived at the page and then searched for something like I did > https://help.instagram.com/search/?query=install%20%22iOS%209%22 [ install "iOS 9" ] and cannot find any relevant articles in the results (I see no FORUMS here ) you could begin by providing them feedback via their OBSCURE "Was this article helpful" feature at the bottom of the article text

notice that they are trying the "circular" tactic of referring you BACK to Apple Support
* also notice that search result linked pages take you to FaceBook.com hosted pages

You could certainly try http://blog.instagram.com/ - I have not visited to see the quality or topics of the content there.

It looks to me to be time to REPORT the developer to the iTunes Store here > http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - first link "Contact iTunes Store Support" (thanks to varjak paw years ago)

  • answer the process choices honestly
  • choose carefully - "Topic not listed" is the best
  • *it appears email is the only option*
