Q: My new photos wont copy to my iPhone anymore

I normally import all my photos from my phone in the Mac Photos app (I select "remove from this device" when importing) then once they are imported I organize them into folders within the Mac Photos app.

Once i have completed this i plug my phone back into the Mac and sync (I have my iTunes set to import ALL my folders in the Mac Photos App) this has always worked well.

But, as of this weekend I have found that it is not importing any of my new images I add to my folders? I have confirmed that I have enough space on my iPhone but it still just refuses to copy the images acroos.

Please can someone help me?!

Ross

You are a God send thanks so much!!! I would never have worked that out!

The removal of the iPod Photo Cache worked perfectly, i just had to make sure it was also cleared from my trash.

oh no....my joy was too early:

when I try to make an sync (iPhone 6 - iTunes) overtime the answer is: iTunes can not sync photos to the iPhone, "Peter's iPhone" as your photo library is not yet available. Try again later.  ---and of course: later is no option. It still not works.... do you have any suggestions?

as your photo library is not yet available.

Where is your Photo library stored? Is it on an external drive, perhaps a network volume that needs to be mounted?

no...I'm afraid not ;-) its on the hard disk of my iMac.. (normal). Perhaps iTunes is confused because I got "fotos" and "iPhoto", too...?

Is your Photos library enabled as the System Photo Library in the Photos > Preferences > General?  "Use as System Photo Library" needs to be grayed out.

    Try this:

    • Quit Photos if it is running.
    • Then open your User Library and remove the complete folder ~/Library/Containers/com.apple.Photos/
    • and the file   ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.Photos.plist

Your user library may still be hidden. To reveal the hidden User Library:

    • Bring the Finder forward by clicking on the Desktop or the Finder icon in the Dock.
    • Select your user/home folder (with the house icon in the Finder sidebar)
    • With that Finder window as the front window, press the key combination ⌘J to bring up the View options.
    • In the View options panel enable ’Show Library Folder’. That will make your user library folder visible in your Home folder.
    • Open your Home folder, then the Library folder, then Containers.
    • Move the complete folder ~/Library/Containers/com.apple.Photos to your desktop. Move the entire folder, not just the contents.
    • Remove   ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.Photos.plist as well.

Now restart the Mac, launch Photos  and try again to disable the labels on the maps and to preview your book.  If all is well, delete the folder from the Desktop.

Hi Léonie, I am very sorry but it still did not work :-(  first all seemed to be happening well, but at the end it was the same problem. You can bet I am searching also for informations at the themes "photo system library not available" or similar but it seems to be a single problem... for myself until now I got no clue....

Have you tried to trouble shoot the iPhone?  Ask in the iPhone forum as well.

perhaps as a last resort I'll try to repair the Photos Library...but that will last, because there are so much Photos... by the way: thank you again very much for your help!
