Icloud backup will not work since ios 9

since ios9 on my iphone 6plus 128gb my icloud backup has stopped working and says it could not be completed. I bought more storage just as a precaution which was not the issue. I have deleted any backups and tried again to no avail, hard resets, etc. Seems others are having the same issues with no answers from Apple? I am now on 9.0.2, neither of the updates since 9.0 solved the issue unfortunately.

iPhone 6 Plus, iOS 9.0.2
