Ban an artist on iTunes

How can I ban an artist on a radio playlist? I selected a Cake radio station and I like 90% of the music. There are a few artist I can't stand. (Snapdragons ) There are some artist I like but hate some songs. I hit the star and click play less like this but they keep playing them. How do I get iTunes to keep the ones I liked and drop the others?
