There are no 3rd party upgrades for your MBP and Apple doesn’t sell upgrade drives. Your only choices are
- remove things you don’t need
- carry an external hard drive
- replace your MBP with one that has a larger SSD
- use the SD RAM card slot and/or the USB slot as additional storage
Option 4 is one I have used with my MBA for several years. There’s a mini USB flash drive that sticks out less than the Power Adapter and it comes in sizes between 16GB and 64GB. There’s also a low profile SD RAM card (look for the one made for your specific model) which comes in sizes up to 256GB (which is very expensive). Neither solution is as fast as an SD card but they work well for music, video and other data files.
Either add an external hard drive or have a technician replace your internal hard drive with a larger one. You can use Time Machine to create a back up of your current hard drive then clone it to the new one.
