How do I search for an application on my phone by name in ios 9's new spotlight search?

How do I search for an application on my phone by name in ios 9's new spotlight search? I used to be able to type in the name of an application on my phone in the spotlight search and it would return to me a list of applications that are on my phone and match the search. I have tried messing with all the new spotlight search settings in ios 9 and I can not get the same functionality to work. Can someone please help me.
