Oct 6, 2015 9:50 AM in response to SDNickby AJ Sexy,I am having the same issue on AT&T's network and have followed the same steps as SDNick.
My messages also is very slow to open threads (sits with thread greyed out for 15-30 seconds before responding) and messages that I've already responded to using my mac will come through as new messages around a half hour later.

Oct 6, 2015 6:37 PM in response to SDNickby Rahrah6263,★HelpfulI Am having a similar problem on verizon network. My messages show as sending as an iMessage but once I send them, they either don't show as delivered or get sent as a text message. Some times, it will stay blue like an iMessage, won't show as delivered, but the person I am talking to will respond to the message that hasn't shown as sent on my phone. It has been doing this sporadically since last night (Oct. 5). Took the phone to Verizon today and did everything they said: hard restart; toggling the iMessage on and off; restoring phone to factor settings. Nothing has worked. getting very frustrated with the inability to properly use the only fuction that keeps me tied to an iPhone in the first place.

Oct 6, 2015 7:05 PM in response to SDNickby TylerPetit,★HelpfulHello all,
I am experiencing an issue as well. Within the last 24 hours (right now its 19:00 hours on October 6th), my iPhone I-messaging system has been having major issues. I would send an I-message to another iPhone, and it would "send", but never say delivered. It would remain like that until about 10-15 min when it decides to send as a green text sms message. Additionally, I factory reset my phone, did all the proper troubleshooting and nothing happened. I called Apple and talked to three people and the response I got was: "It is an ongoing issue with the IOS 9.0.2 update, and the tech team is currently trying to resolve the issues." I hope this issue gets resolved very soon. I need my phone to be working optimally for my job.

Oct 6, 2015 7:14 PM in response to SDNickby wtfshaundae,I Was having the same problems. I took my phone into the Apple Store and they turned off wifi assist on my phone. It seems to have corrected the messages sending as text. They also told me the messages not showing delivered is a new feature with iOS 9

Oct 6, 2015 7:57 PM in response to SDNickby dannonannon,Similar issue. Only tried single person (no group messages). Issue occurs with all contacts.
iMessages are sent to the server successfully (blue bar crosses the top of the screen and disappears) then for *some* of them (not all), "delivered" never shows up. The receiver gets most but not all of them regardless of whether or not they report as "delivered". Then some random time later, between nearly right away and about 5 minutes later, the ones not "delivered" are resent as text messages, but not all of *them* are received.
I've tried logging out of icloud and imessage and logging back in, rebooting the phone, wifi on/off, cellular data on/off (with and without LTE enabled), reset network settings. Wifi assist is set to off.
I don't appear to be having any issues at all receiving.
Telus, iPhone 5. This is my only i-device.

Oct 6, 2015 8:15 PM in response to wtfshaundaeby edwin1987,I updated on iOS 9.0.2 but I have the same problem. My friend received my message as iMessage but it shows text messages from my end. However, there still have some messages show delivered. I don't think it is new feature of iOS 9.0.2

Oct 6, 2015 8:17 PM in response to wtfshaundaeby TylerPetit,Although it might be a new feature of IOS 9.0.2, its really annoying because there is 0 consistency. One message is Blue and the next is green. Really annoying. Apple should keep it how it has always been, that way we know if our messages are being delivered.

Oct 6, 2015 8:22 PM in response to Rahrah6263by TylerPetit,Hello Rahrah6263,
I agree, its aggravating. I rely on my iPhone 5 form work, and the inconsistency since last night around 5:00 PST on Oct 5th 2015, I have had nothing but issues. I also factory reset my phone, and did all the possible troubleshooting possible. Nothing changed. Apple needs to handle this one in an update.

Oct 6, 2015 10:35 PM in response to SDNickby starbucks1222,I'm having the same problem. 1 out of 20 messages are going through as imessages. Most of the time everything is going as a text, and its getting very annoying. I've done everything, and nothing is fixing it.

Oct 7, 2015 6:15 AM in response to SDNickby Pravius,I am also having this issue on T-Mobile. Completely random if iMessage works or not as far as I can tell but it does appear to have to time out before sending as text which creates a delay in the text being sent. I am going to turn off iMessage for now until Apple can fix.
