imessage not working reliably after ios 9.0.2 update.

After the iOS 9.0.2 update, I am not reliably receiving or sending text messages. This occurs on group and single person text messages. It occurs with others that have iphones and other phones. It seems to be worst on one group text which contains a mix of iphones and non-iphones. Some messages that I send are not received. Some messages that are sent to me are not received.

There are no blocks set for Messaging. I have reset my network with the help of Apple's help line. I have restarted my phone. I have good WiFi and Cellular connections. I am on AT&T's network.

The problem persists.

Any solutions?

Thanks.

I am having the same issue on AT&T's network and have followed the same steps as SDNick.

My messages also is very slow to open threads (sits with thread greyed out for 15-30 seconds before responding) and messages that I've already responded to using my mac will come through as new messages around a half hour later.

I Am having a similar problem on verizon network. My messages show as sending as an iMessage but once I send them, they either don't show as delivered or get sent as a text message. Some times, it will stay blue like an iMessage, won't show as delivered, but the person I am talking to will respond to the message that hasn't shown as sent on my phone. It has been doing this sporadically since last night (Oct. 5). Took the phone to Verizon today and did everything they said: hard restart; toggling the iMessage on and off; restoring phone to factor settings. Nothing has worked. getting very frustrated with the inability to properly use the only fuction that keeps me tied to an iPhone in the first place.

Hello all,

I am experiencing an issue as well. Within the last 24 hours (right now its 19:00 hours on October 6th), my iPhone I-messaging system has been having major issues. I would send an I-message to another iPhone, and it would "send", but never say delivered. It would remain like that until about 10-15 min when it decides to send as a green text sms message. Additionally, I factory reset my phone, did all the proper troubleshooting and nothing happened. I called Apple and talked to three people and the response I got was: "It is an ongoing issue with the IOS 9.0.2 update, and the tech team is currently trying to resolve the issues." I hope this issue gets resolved very soon. I need my phone to be working optimally for my job.

Similar issue. Only tried single person (no group messages). Issue occurs with all contacts.

iMessages are sent to the server successfully (blue bar crosses the top of the screen and disappears) then for *some* of them (not all), "delivered" never shows up. The receiver gets most but not all of them regardless of whether or not they report as "delivered". Then some random time later, between nearly right away and about 5 minutes later, the ones not "delivered" are resent as text messages, but not all of *them* are received.

I've tried logging out of icloud and imessage and logging back in, rebooting the phone, wifi on/off, cellular data on/off (with and without LTE enabled), reset network settings. Wifi assist is set to off.

I don't appear to be having any issues at all receiving.

Telus, iPhone 5. This is my only i-device.
