how do i delete pictures on my phone from iPhoto

I have photos on my iphone5 from an old macbook that I can't delete on the phone since they were imported from iPhoto. Does anyone know how I can delete them? I can't just go into my photos and swipe to delete them since they've been imported and my new macbook doesn't have iPhoto on it for me to try and remove them that way. Any help is appreciated, thanks!
