GarageBand 6.0.5 in Yosemite?

I upgraded to Yosemite on my 2011 MacBook Pro, and GarageBand 6.0.5 works there but it's slow as molasses. (The entire machine is, but that's a different story.) When I got my 27-inch iMac (w/Yosemite) I gave GarageBand 10 a shot, but it just doesn't make sense to me; I prefer the classic GB 6.0.5 for podcasting.

I successfully copied the 6.0.5 app into my iMac, but upon launching it's telling me that I have to choose a "valid instrument library." Anybody know what I should do next?

Copy an instrument library from your MacBook Pro to your iMac.

The instruments are installed in the System Library: Open the folder "Library" directly at the top level of your MacintoshHD, then copy the missing files and folders from /Library/Application Support/GarageBand/ to your iMac.

You will need to copy the Loops as well. The loops are installed in /Library/Audio/Apple Loops/ .

After copying the loops over rebuild the Loop Index as described here: Rebuilding the Loop Index in GarageBand
