advance recurring reminders

I create recurring tasks in Outlook on a PC that are synced to Reminders on my iPhone. When I complete the task for this recurrence, I want to be able to indicate it is complete and have the reminder reset for the next recurrence. How can I do this? If I select the completed button, it appears the entire reminder is marked as completed an no longer reoccurs.
