Ipad update - IOS9 on windows XP clash

Just updated my ipad to IOS9.0.2. Now it can't speak to my laptop as it needs itunes 12.2.2 or later and I can't download this on windows XP. Apple has rendered my ipad useless unless I buy new laptop. Any less expensive solutions?

Once an iPad or iOS device is updated, it can technically never go back to a previous version of iOS (there is jail breaking, but I would not recommend trying because it could brick your device and void any warranty that might still be there). Windows XP's support ended in April of 2014 which means Microsoft no longer provides security patches, leaving your system extremely venerable to viruses, etc. You might can find a Windows 8 upgrade key card on amazon but I've learned that you usually don't need to spend money on an XP era machine. It's probably just time for a new computer with Windows 8.1 (supported by MS until 2022) or 10 (supported for 10 years)... Sorry for the bad news.

The answer is wrong. Once you updated to IOS9 or purchased 6s, itunes 12.2.2 or later version is requested and I can't install this on windows XP. I could not sync itunes podcast to iphone anymore.

I'm sorry, but you are the one that is incorrect. The link that Niel provided is for a version of iTunes that will sync with iOS 9, and will work with Windows XP. It was released specially in September 2015 for XP and Vista. Use the link he provided and it will work with the latest version of iOS. You can use the link that Niel provided, or you can go to http://www.apple.com/support/downloads and look for this link, for the 32-bit version for XP.

I was wrong as it does seem that iTunes 12.1.3 claims to be the last version to support Windows XP, Vista and iOS 9. Just make sure that you have recently restarted your PC (mainly after another install). Here is an official Apple download link that I found that should work. If it doesn't, you can also try running as an admin (right click the installer and click "Run as Administrator"). iTunes 12.1.3 for Windows (32 bit)
