Writing app for mac

Hi I am after some suggestions. I am a teacher and would like to leave work for students to do outside the classroom. Some of this may simply be to watch a presentation which is essentially an online lecture. I would like to be able to talk whilst writing onto a blank screen but not with mac text but simply handwritten text so i can easily develop ideas on the screen. Any ideas?
