Ipad2 and Airplay

I have a current version Airport Express connected to an Airport Time Capsule network. The Express is connected to a music system and a printer. When i connect my iPad2 to the Express and play music via Airplay the stream cuts in and out periodically. Sometimes it goes off for some seconds, sometimes it sounds as if there is loose wire connection (there aren't any loose wires between the stereo and express). iOS is 9.0.2. This is rather annoying to have the sound cutting off and on. When i connect my iPhone 6S and stream music there is no cutting off and on. The Express and stereo are only 3 feet from the iPad. The Airport Time Capsule is about 40 feet and shows the same signal strength as my iPhone and computer.

Has anyone experienced this? Help appreciated
