How to upgrade software in Mac air with less than 2 GB

When I try to do update software. It says it needs 2 GB memory which is not available in my laptop.

How can I update the software?

I do have iCloud with lots of free space

MacBook Air, iOS 9

iCloud is storage space. It has absolutely nothing to do with the 2GB minimum memory requirement.


The only way to upgrade software requiring 2GB of memory is to purchase a new computer. Apple does not authorize adding memory to a MacBook Air.
