Itunes not transferring purchases from iPhone???

Hey guys, i don't know whats wrong but for some reason when i plug my iPhone into my Macbook Air and then click file, devices and then i click transfer purchases from my device and lately i have downloaded some new apps off the store and they've not been added to my iTunes store so they're not being transferred when i sync :-( help would be greatly appreciated.
