imovie not responding since El Capitan installed

I have just upgraded to El Capitan and iMovie opens but is not responding. I have tried re booting, re loading iMovie and I tried to re load back to Yosemite. No luck on anything. Can anyone help please? I notice others are having similar problems 😟

MacBook Air (11-INCH, MID 2011), OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.2)
