Where are all my photos/videos in icloud? How to upload to cpu?

I have over a thousand photos and 30 videos in my phone, but I want to upload and save everything to my computer. Only about 600 photos are saved in my iCloud photos folder on my computer and I have no idea how to access the other photos aside from the painstaking option of saving them one by one from my phone. I tried plugging the USB in and trying to access the iphone like a drive, but nothing was in there. What can I do and why are more than half my photos not automatically syncing? Please help! Thanks in advance!

If you are using a windows comp when you plug in it will say to import photos. However if you are using a mac IPhoto will be the way to go it usually comes with the mac and has a button that says import photos from [Insert Apple Product here].

Thanks for the response, but does not work in my case.

I am using windows 10, it does not say I can import photos. When I go into "my computer" and open "iphone" there are barely any photos there.

Just downloaded and tried 12.3.044, still same problem. When I click on "Photos" in iTunes it says "iCloud Photos is On. iPhone can access photos in icloud. photos can be downloaded to your device via Wi-Fi or cellular network."

I have the same problem! I cannot get to my photos on my phone through my computer (iTunes or through the folder). They also will not upload to my iCloud.

Try stopping the sync with iCloud and then see if iTunes will let you import the files.
