router shows "connection failed" in finder

I installed a new router (Linksys EA6900) the other day. Aside from a few glitches, everything seems to be working okay. The wi-fi icon indicates the linksys is connected and it shows as connected in system preferences, but in finder, it shows as "connection failed." One of the glitches I'm experiencing is the inability to upload photos to e-commerce websites like Etsy and Amazon. Thoughts? THANKS!
