El Capitan was in beta testing for a year, which meant Xerox, along with every other developer out there, had that entire time to make sure that it was current and compatible. Apple can't hold a gun to people's heads and demand they update their products. If Xerox hasn't made drivers compatible with the current OS yet, that's Xerox's fault, and you should send your vitriol their way.

Since I started with Apple several years ago, I spent 5000+$ for couple of MacBooks and 15000+$ for iPhones&iPads for me and my relatives. So I'm a good buyer. I can say - I'm respectable i-customer. I used to update my devices without any doubts. I didn't try any beta version. I always update on stable ones.
What do I have now? I can't print from my Mac on Xerox. On Xerox! It's a huge company with a billions users! A lot of them using Mac.
Now you telling me that two giants can't have a dialog to each other, and suggest me to "send your vitriol their (xerox) way"... Good job! I wonder what S. Jobs would say on that job... Nothing personal, my friend, but I still have a questions:
1. Why should I worry about updates which is strongly recommended by Apple? I mean why I cant expect that all of my environment will work properly after update?
2. Why Apple don't make any announcements for customers, for example "check Xerox WorkStation XXXX drivers for compatibility"?
Is it to difficult? Or Apple just don't care?
That's interesting situation, when in the beginning you spend your money with a pleasure, build your surroundings carefully, made it runs, UPDATE with RECOMMENDED el capitan, and finally can't print a sheet.

See Printer and scanner software available for download for your Mac - Apple Support for a list of brands & models currently supported with OS X. Note, as it says, that all this software is provided by third-party vendors, not by Apple.
Unfortunately, it is not unusual for these vendors to discontinue OS X software support for many of their older products or to update the software for some of them only if & when they get enough requests from users to do so. Xerox no longer sells the WorkCentre 3045 as new (it was replaced by the 3215) so it would be a good idea to contact Xerox customer support & tell them you want them to keep supporting the 3045 with an update for 10.11.

And this very update is the only one update that cause trouble. It's not right, it's not correct, it's looks like Apple loosing care about part of customers, so they will make a conclusions, believe me. Here we say "vote by your money", and it means I'll spend my next thousands $ another way that I used to spend on Apple.
