Apple Pay on Watch not working at Macy's

I have the iPhone 5S and Apple Watch. I've used the Apple Pay a couple times from the Watch with no problem.

Yesterday I tried to use it at Macy's and it wouldn't work. The Watch would vibrate then show a check mark and say completed. The reader would light up all four green lights for a second then go out. Then nothing else would happen on the reader or cash register side. It would act like it never got it. It did this at multiple readers in the store. I went to two other Macy's in town and had the same experience.

On the way home I stopped at McDonald's and used it with no problems.

Has anyone else had this issue at Macy's. Is there something I'm doing wrong.

When you try to use Apple Pay in a store and experience a failed transaction, report it to Apple here:

https://www.apple.com/feedback/apple-pay.html

The feedback form enables you to report issues with specific merchants, transactions and payment cards, so is helpful in enabling Apple to investigate.

Your card issuer may also be able to investigate the matter from their side if you contact them.

I had the same issue yesterday. I tried both apple watch as well as an iphone. Both of them showed the "tick" mark an accepted sign on my end, but nothing at the teller side. I eventually had to directly pay with my credit card! I have tried couple of Macy's stored in my city and they both have the same issue.

I have had the same issues with multiple purchases at Macy's. I was told by an Macy's associate that the issue is with the Discover card. I had no problems using an Amex. Kinda ***** because you can't get the bonus cash back using the discover card with Apple Pay.

That is totally a false statement by the Macy's associate. I have used Apple Pay with Discover card at Mc D's without any problem, but have issue at Macy's. And I also made payment with Android Pay at Macy's with a registered Discover card without any problem at all ( I do understands Android Pay works a bit different than Apple Pay thru the process of Google assigning a Virtual Card number for the actual Discover card). But it doesn't explain why Apple Pay still works at Mc D's. Sorry don't have a resolution, but we don't want to be misinform.
