"iTunes has stopped working" when I try playing music (Windows 8.1)

Before and after I updated iTunes, I'd get messages that'd say "iTunes has stopped working" and it would close down. Like I mentioned I've updated it and I've tried reinstalling it, but still 98% of the time it crashes whenever I try to hit play on any song, or it crashes just seconds after the song. The other 2% of the time, It might work for a little but it'd go back to crashing soon after. What gives?
