iPhone 5s stuck on apple logo loading screen during restore

I have an iPhone 5S that recently got locked up and put into recovery mode. Now that I have tried to restore and update the phone, it does not show the recovery screen that one would usually see. When I attempt to turn the phone on, it shows the apple logo, then turns black, then turns off. When I connect it to my computer to attempt to restore it, my computer extracts the software as it should then iTunes gets stuck on the prompt: " Waiting on iPhone..." and the phone gets stuck on the Apple logo screen with loading bar that shows no progress. Any help is much needed.
