iMessage's will not "deliver", but my message will still be received. And because the iMessage does not "deliver", the same message will be sent as a text message, so all texts are being sent twice. I have tried everything to get iMessage to work properly, but nothing has worked. This has been happening for days now.

Have you tried resetting your phone? further you can disable Send as SMS option from settings in order to avoid this issue temporally.
Settings > Messeger > Send as SMS (Disable)
MIne is ONLY happening to users who are using older versions of iOS. If I send a message to my old phone (running iOS 7) it does this. if I send it to my gf (also iOS 7) this happens.
it looks like 8 or above doesnt make it happen.
