IPhone won't sync after recent update

Since the most recent update, my iphone 6 will not sync with itunes. Although I can see the iphone in 'This PC,' it never shows up in itunes. I've tried restarting the iphone, restarting my PC, and tried plugging it in to several different usb ports, all to no avail.


Is there anything else I can try? I'd really rather not do a factory reset. I feel like I've needed to do that way too many times since getting this device, and it's a huge hassle every time.

Make sure you are using the latest version of iTunes for Windows. That is 12.3.0.44. What version of Windows are you using?
