How do I delete autofill email addresses in iOS9?

Is it possible to delete old addresses from autofilling in Mail on iOS9? These addresses are not in Contacts. Some are incorrect, so I'd like them gone. I figured out how to delete them in Messages (click the "i" in the circle and "remove from recent" is a choice), but that's not an option in Mail.

Thanks!

I'm on IOS9.1 on Ipad Mini. Just discovered that when I get the auto-suggest menu up when keying in first letters of an email address, and hit the "I" button on the offending address that I want to get rid of ....a window is offered showing options. Delete appears briefly and then the window shrinks to not show it. Not sure why I didnt notice this before...but....if I slide the window contents up, the delete option shows and I am able to delete the offending address.

The only thing I can think of that is different is, in experimenting how to delete these addresses, I went to Settings/Mail,Contacts,Calendars .. selected iCloud...and turned Mail and Contacts off. Then went to email, attempted the email process above and found I could delete the address. I have reset iCloud and the offending address did not reappear.
