Copy music from MacBook to iPhone

Hello all,

I have a MacBook with El Capitan, an iPhone 6 with iOS 9. How can I copy my own, and paid for CD's, from my MacBook to my iPhone ?

This seems to be impossible in iTunes, or Music, as it is called now.

Any helpful answer will be greatly appreciated.

Hi wb13,

I haven't done so in a long time with the iPhone since I started using iTunes Match which syncs my whole library via cloud but it used to be done by importing your music into itunes (which can also rip cds) and then sync your music library (or parts of it) with your mobile device. I still do that with my ipod classic and it hasn't changed afaik.

https://discussions.apple.com/thread/7163823 - If you have signed up for Apple Music or iTunes Match you won't have the option to manually manage music/sync to a device in iTunes. Syncing is done through iCloud and all your eligible music should appear there.

If you have not signed up for one of the iCloud based services:
