Is there an ad blocker for iPAD mini Safari

Is there an ad blocker for Safari in IOS 9.0.2 for an iPad mini? I don't want to block ads in an app, but in the web browser. Every ad blocker app I've tried to download says it is not compatible with my device.

Actually, I have no particular beef with ads per se, but web pages are loading WAY too slowly in my iPad mini, and my hunch is it's due to ads. But if there's some other way to speed up load times, I am happy to try it. And I'm not talking about gaming or anything like that; just regular web pages in various blogs.

I've tried other free browsers like Dolphin and Opera, but they don't seem to be any faster than Safari. I'm reluctant to pay for a different browser without being able to see ahead of time if it actually is faster.
