Q: el capitan downloaded but not installed

Downloaded El Cap, did the usual agree, it rebooted but Yosemite still there.

Says El Cap is downloaded (can't find it) now stuck as it won't redownload.

On my IMAC

iMac (21.5-inch, Late 2013), OS X Yosemite (10.10.5), 2.9Ghz Intel Core, 16Gb 1600 MHZ DD

Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.

I understand that your iMac still shows Yosemite installed, but you attempting to install El Capitan. Since the Mac App Store shows that El Capitan is downloaded, could you check in your Applications folder or Launchpad to see if the installer is preset? The El Capitan installer may also be located in your dock.
