Q: Apple Music/iTunes account not connecting
I've recently updated my 2015 macbook pro to El Capitan. I purchased the macbook in Malaysia but I now live in China. In order to use the internet I need to use a VPN due to China's restrictions on internet use. Everything was working fine via the VPN but since the update I have to deactivate the VPN to log in to my account or I get an error message -9847/42650 (I've tried to search online for what it means but can't find anything - maybe restricted due to VPN/China).
When I deactivate the VPN I get signed out of iCloud Music/Apple music and when I try to sign in again, or connect to iTunes it comes up with a -50 error message saying an error has occurred and it can't connect. I've done the usual off and on with my macbook but the problem persists. As I live in China there is no apple support here and I have no other way of contacting them (that I can find online). This then causes iCloud music to attempt to re-download all my tracks and then hangs so none of my tracks are available to play. I've read about re-setting the iCloud music library but can't log in to my account to change it. Apple music when streaming works ok, sometimes cuts off with an error message (with or without the VPN on).
Does anyone know of a possible solution?
Could I have updated my Macbook with the Chinese version of the operating system that may now be restricting iTunes usage (my account is still set in Malaysia)?
Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.
Using El Capitan and most recent iTunes, also iOS9 on iPhone 6.
MacBook Pro with Retina display, OS X El Capitan (10.11), null
