I have migrated by files from an old pro to a new one. I had to create a new user account, which i did, and the transfer was successful - i have now forgotten the user name and password! - can i retrieve it somewhere or can i removed files
Connect both MacBooks using a FireWire cable. Hold down the "T" key on the new Mac while it boots after you turn it on. It will start in taget disk mode. It will appear as a hard drive on the other Mac. Navigate to the users folder on the Mac. The name of the home drive under users is your user name.
