Create an index in Pages 5?

No index capability in any version or release of Pages. Other word processing alternatives offer the ability to generate an index. Word. Nisus Writer Pro, LibreOffice (free), etc.

I was reading through pp. 358-365 in the LibreOffice Writer 4.2 PDF manual and it illustrates that you tag specific words, or phrases as you write your document for inclusion into the final alphabetical index. If you don't do this, then initiating an index build does nothing when tasked with indexing an entire document that has not had this preparatory treatment.
