Black text not showing when printing

Black text not showing when printing

I've just tried printing a word document. All text and pictures printed except for text that was black - all other colours printed. When I changed the line of text to a different colour, it did print. Can anyone help - this just seems to have randomly happened. Running iOS 10.9.5, Word 2008 and a Brother printer.

iMac (27-inch Mid 2010), OS X Mavericks (10.9.5)

Presumably you have checked your ink levels?

Ink levels fine, only recently put in a new cartridge. I've removed the printer and added it again. I've changed colour match settings when printing, checked no duplicates in font book and numerous other suggestions from a from a chat I found about the same thing. A couple of weeks ago it was working fine. Totally stumped!
