I am using the original Apple cord and charging adapter. When I plug the phone in to charge, many application are randomly opened - last night it made a call on its own immediately after plugging in. My husband is also experiencing this with his iphone 6.

Restart your devices by holding the home and power button until the Apple logo appears. Then release both buttons.

You can actually do the restart any time. It does not take long and no data is lost. The restart seems to cure a lot of ills when the device is not acting correctly. Like all software, especially really complicated stuff, sometimes things just go wonky.
My boyfriend's does weird things too. He has the 5 though. It randomly sent me his location one day. He says it calls people and does all kinds of weird stuff by itself!
