Imessage - do you see "not delivered" on iphone if you deleted a contact after you sent the message?

I have a iphone 5S. I sent an imessage to a contact of mine who also uses imessaging. After I sent the message, it didn't say "delivered" underneath it. I deleted the contact by accident. I sent some more imessages to a few more contacts a while later and all of them came back as not delivered. I fixed the problem; however, just wondering if something would have come back on my phone as "not delivered" from my first contact after I deleted them by accident?
