AFTER EL CAPITAN UPGRADE LOG ON SCREEN PARTLY BLACK AND MISSING THE WIDGET PAGE

I just installed El Capitan on me Mac Book Pro. The log on screen is not as it was. Now it is one third black as if there is a fault with the graphics. After log on it's ok again.

Also the widget page is missing. When i swipe to the left the scree does not appear.

I would much appreciate any ones help on this.

Thanks in advance

Restart in Safe Mode by holding the Shift key at Startup. This does a five minute equivalent of Disk Utility (Repair Disk [directory]) as it starts up, loads almost no extensions, and uses defaults for everything it can -- uses almost none of your settings.

It demands your Userid and password to continue. Screen re-draw will be slow.

Deliberately re-set your screen resolution with

System Preferences > Displays ...

... and be sure to close the window and save changes.

Test the things that did not work before. ¿better now?

Restart in regular mode (will take slightly longer as it rebuild some system files). ¿ Better now?
