Keyboard problem iPad mini

Typing some places and forums is hopeless. This is one of them. Suggests stupid words, and if you stop for a second it assumes youve finished. Won't let you add anything even though keyboard comes up. Same on EBay, had to edit a listing numerous times, just to finish the description. If you stop, then go back in, it just comes up with, select or select all when you tap typing area. Horrible and a nightmare to list anything or even get this posted. Any suggestions anyone please, doesn't seem to be a general problem for all, so what have I got effecting it if anything. Thanks.
