4s sound in everything but calls

Hi everyone,

I have an 4S and it's behaving weird since the receiver are mic are not working with calls. ONLY with calls. The speaker, mic and receiver are working properly with: music, ringing, voice notes through Whatsapp or Telegram, and everything else.

I did already all the troubleshootings found in Apple Support related to mic(s), speaker and receiver maintenance, clearing network settings, taking the case off, checking the silence switch, rebooting and updating. I had the problem with iOS 8 and updated yesterday to iOS 9: the problem continues.

Am I missing something here? Since it is not working only with calls i'm pretty sure that it's a software related problem. Any help? Thanks!

iPhone 4S, iOS 9.0.2, null

Hi! Try to reset your device. This won't delete your data stored on this device.

  • Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button
  • Press and hold on the Home button
  • Keep holding both buttons until the display turns off and back on with Apple logo on it.

Alternatively, you may go to Settings - General - Reset - Reset All Settings

As a final step, try the DFU mode:

  • Connect your device to your computer using a USB cable.
  • Turn off the device.
  • Press and hold the Power button for 3 seconds
  • Press the Home button while holding the Power button and hold both for 10 seconds.
  • Release the Power button, but KEEP HOLDING the Home button.
  • After about 15 seconds, iTunes will tell you it has detected a device in Recovery Mode.
  • Restore your device

If these steps don't work, contact Apple and ask for help.
