I am unable to install Windows 10 on Bootcamp Partition. Windows Setup is unable to read the disk properly.
Hello everyone. I'm new to the support community.
After searching for a solution for the problem I have I ended up here and well, now I have to ask about it since there's no information available.
I'm currently using a MacBook Retina Pro 15" Mid 2015 with AMD Graphics and I just upgraded to El Capitan. Now I'm trying to install Windows 10 on a 150GB partition. I have done this with different ISO files downloaded from Microsoft. BCA is able to do the partition, extract the ISO to the OSXRESERVED partition (no need for USB Flash Drive here) and download the support software for windows. Once I get to the setup on windows it's where the problems begin. Sometimes the whole setup procedure just freezes and I'm unable to continue which forces me to shut down the computer and boot back into OS X. When it doesn't freeze I keep getting the problem that windows is unable to read the disk and keeps restarting the setup procedure over and over. I did manage to install it once but then it would go on a rebooting loop before even being able to log in. At which point I decided to delete the whole bootcamp partition and start all over again. When I return to OS X the BCA can't recover the partition done by it and I have to rely on the Disk Utility to get the partition back to normal.
I also ran Apple Diagnostics which didn't return any problem. Everything is fine according to this.
The message I keep getting from windows setup is the following: "Windows could not retrieve information about the disks on this computer." What I also noticed is that during the setup procedure, if the whole thing freezes, then the fan spins like crazy and very loud.
I also tried with a Windows 8.1 iso and the only result I get is the freeze and fan.
On both Windows10 ISO and Windows8.1 ISO MD5 and SH1 have been consistent. So I do not think it's related to the source of those images.
As far as the OS X experience. It's been great, I've been using it for gaming and working without any trouble.
Any advice and help that can be provided is greatly appreciated. Thank you for your input in advance.
