Q: Why wont my mac/app store let me "purchase" os x el capitan?

I press the get button and it says that I can't purchase it. When I press the "Learn More" button nothing happens, almost as if I pressed the Ok button instead. I have all the requirements for the update but it says I have no updates, even though I am running leopard.
