iMessages not saying "Delivered," but being received.

I have the iOS 9.0.2 on my iPhone 5. I am now having the problem of my iMessage's not saying they have delivered, but those on the receiving end still get my iMessage. It never ends up saying "Delivered," it just says "Sent as a Text Message," yet it is not being received as a regular text message. Anyone else having this problem? It seems as though it's because the people receiving do not have the newest update only I do.
