All of the sudden, the notes on my iPhone are not there. They were there yesterday and I did not change anything in settings. I believe my notes were under my yahoo account, and the default account is set for yahoo. How do I get them back? I had important informaction written in my notes app (the yellow one that came with my phone).

After reviewing your post, it sounds like the Yahoo account Notes are not on the iPhone anymore.
One possibility is that the Notes feature is not turned on.
1. If you Go to Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > and tap the Yahoo account.
2. It should pull up a window that has account feature available to turn on like Mail, Contacts, Calendar, Notes, etc.
3. Make sure Notes is turned on if it is available.

i tried that and it is turned on, so im not sure what else could be going wrong. I hope to get this resolved but still no luck. do you have any other advice?

Try turning it off, wait a couple of minutes and then turn it back on.
