Notes transferred to iPhone from iPad. How do I get them back to iPad?

I didn't do anything that I am aware of, but all of my notes have transferred from my iPad to my new iPhone 5s. How do I get them back on my iPad? Both devices were recently updated to iOS 9.0.2. When I go to settings, then notes o both devices, the "On My iPhone Account" and "On My iPad Account" are gray and will not let me turn off or on. I want to store my notes on my iPad and not my iPhone. I would be satisfied to see my notes on both devices if possible.

Hello Want2Btechsavvy,
I understand that you would like to have your notes show up on your iPhone and iPad. You can easily do that with iCloud. If you enable Notes syncing, they will show up on both devices. If it is already activated, then you can easily turn off Notes in Settings > iCloud and then turn it back on. For more details take a look at the article below.
