Cannot stop Hotspot shield vpn

I had Hotspot shield installed from a long time ago and never used it. Recently it started causing problems and blocked netflix so I deleted it. After deleting it, netflix is still blocked by hotspot shield unless I email it to 10 people. I went to network setting but it doesn't show any active VPNs. It's really frustrating. I've searched through every file on my computer and can't find any lingering hotspot shield related files. How can i stop this?
