Did you do anything since it last worked? Like update OSX version?

What do you mean by "Utility desktop"?

- Try resetting the SMC and NVRAM/PRAM

- Try starting in Safe Mode

OS X: What is Safe Boot, Safe Mode?

- Boot to Recovery and repair the startup disk. Yu may be booting the Recovery mode.

I had a lot of Browser open, because I was searching Tutorials on IMovie. I have OSX 10.9.4. When I start the mac is doesn't show up on my regular destop. Instead it move to so called OS X - utility Desktop. There you have 4 options available, like Time Mchine backup an so on. But I did not create any backup. Also, the option to reinstall OS X but I can't cause I have a lot of Logic pro x Projects over there. I have a 250 GB Disk but only 3 Gb free. Maybe it has something to do with that ?!

What happens If I reset the System Managment ? Do I lose any Data ?

Thakn you very much for your help 🙂

Resetting the SMC and NVRAM/PRAM doesn ot delete anything.

From your description it appears you are booted to Recovery mode.

Try repairing the startup disk.

If still problem I would clone the HD to an external HD using Disk Utility.

http://www.newertech.com/tech_support/manuals/mac/clon_data.php

Then try reinstall OSC via Recovery without formatting

Last would be to format and reinstall and restore stuff fro the clone.
