IMessaging problems

Recently upgraded to Iphone6. Have latest software and today upgraded to 9.0.2. Also did the same on my iPad Air 2. For the past week, even before upgraded software, I have been unable to text to other iPhone/iPad contacts, whom I have been messaging with, from my iPad, and the green messages appear on the phone. I have messages turned on in both products. Haven't changed any settings. It's one of those ghost deals.

IS there something else I can do to fix this?
