Basically, how do you convert Aperture library to a Lightroom library? After having to abandon my Aperture Software I have attempted to migrate the Aperture Library but it will not load to Lightroom. Following the Apple prescribed steps has lead me to a dead end.

Thank you, I'm afraid that as I look at my Aperture Libary File in the Applications Folder and have not been able to open or move it, I'm stuck. My biggest concern is that when I changed to OS X Yosemite and was unaware that I would lose my Aperture Application I somehow cut myself out the ability to migrate to Lightroom.

IMHO, the plugin that comes with Lightroom worked just fine for me.
It doesn't create a Lightroom library, per se, but the equivalent is a folder with all your photos in it. It's in addition, not a replacement, to your Aperture or iPhoto library files.
So does this only import the master files from Aperture, or the adjustments as well?
I have an Aperture library of about 750 gb, and put in thousands of hours editing photos in Aperture. It would be a shame to lose all that, and I haven't figured out any good way to export all the edited versions as an organized batch.
