I just began learning AppleScripts. I want to use it to open Audacity. I wrote
tell application "Audacity" to open
Audacity opens. But after it opens, I get the -1700 error and the code stops, so I can't run any other lines. Any idea on what could be happening?
MacBook Pro (13-inch Mid 2012), OS X Mavericks (10.9.5)
The 'open' command usually relates to objects, such as documents ".. open this document".
To open the application as if you'd double-clicked on it, use the 'activate' (foreground) or 'launch' (background) commands:
tell application "Audacity" to activate
