iPad problems with Belkin Keyboard after update to iOS 9.0.2

Belkin QODE Ultimate Wireless Keyboard and Case for iPad 4 iOS 9.0.2

Hello,

After I updated my iPad 4 to the new iOS 9.0.2, I´m having trouble with the Belkin Keyboard.

The keyboard has a language key to easily access language change. Before the update, the language key worked perfectly. When I pressed the language key, I was able to choose from a pop-up window between English - Spanish - Emoji. After the update, when I press the language key the iPad goes to the Search screen and the screen keyboard appears.

Also, when I use the touchscreen option to place the cursor on a ¨Search¨ bar, the screen keyboard appears even though the wireless keyboard is still connected. I, then, have to manually hide the screen keyboard to keep typing with the wireless keyboard.

I greatly appreciate your help.

AApple changed the shortcut to control plus space, so belkins key is no longer programmed correctly.

I tried ctrl + space, but it does the same as pressing the language key... 😕

Hello Tom, I actually don´t have a Ctrl key. I was trying Command Key instead and ¨Spotlight¨ appeared. Plese see pic below.

Not too smart of apple to change the shortcut so it requires a key which is not on such keyboards. You might try using fn before the old shortcut and see if anything happens.

I've tried several key combinations with command, fn, shift, etc. but nothing works... I hope Apple provides a solution.

You might try contacting Belkin to see if their device supports the latest iOS. They may also be able to provide you with some troubleshooting steps for their keyboard.

Do you think Belkin understands what the problem is? Their clever "language" key is hard wired to send the code for a shortcut that Apple has changed, and they omitted the key needed for the new one. It seems to me they have to produce a new keyboard to fix this (or Apple has to change the shortcut back in an ios update, there is no way for users to do that).

Hi Tom,

I don´t think they understand the problem. I will open a ticket with them explaining the problem as you just did and see what happens. But the solutions that works for all the Belkin Keypad ownres is that Apple goes back to their previous shortcut.

Santi, Will Apple fix the problem? I still can't use the caps lock on my keyboard. When I do it changes the language. What is the current status?

I tried Shift + Caps Lock and it doesn't work. Does anyone know if Belkin or Apple is willing take responsibility for this and do something about it?

I found the shortcut. at least occasionally， "caps lock". When in the writing status, press "caps lock" or "caps lock+up/down" key，then you'll see what you want.
