I cannot find texts to retrieve on my icloud

I have backed up my iPhone 6 several times (plugged in, wifi and locked). When I go to look on the iCloud page I see no texts. On the bar it looks like there might be some. My goal is to delete some texts but keep them on iCloud. Any help would be great.
