Recover free space from bootcamp setup prematurely ending

I was setting up bootcamp, and while partitioning it crapped out and the mac restarted. The partition is not showing up the disk utility or the bootcamp assistant. Running the command below, from reading other forums, I do see the 55 GB as free space, which I was allocating for the bootcamp partition. How do I recover the disk? Should i try to delete and then see if disk utility sees it then recover? I don't want to do anything more to royally screw it up even more. Thank you.

Please post the output of the following Terminal commands.

diskutil list

diskutil cs list

sudo gpt -vv -r show /dev/disk0

sudo fdisk /dev/disk0

The "sudo" commands will prompt for your password, and it will not be echoed back. You may also see a warning about improper use of "sudo" and potential data loss due to "abuse" of the command.

1. Run Disk Utility Repair, and check if you can extend the Macintosh HD.

2. Boot into Internet Recovery.

3. If that does not work, you can revert the CS volume to JHFS+, using diskutil cs revert disk1 and check if DU will allow you to recover it.

4. If that does not work, backup OS X using Time Machine, erase your internal disk and restore from Time Machine.
